lucky bamboo plant,how to.......?
when i bought the plant it was small in a small ceramic pot,it has been doing well and grew quite big and ends of leaves are drying up ,i know it'd need repotting but since i haven't much space reporting is not an option,can this plant be pruned without harming the plant ? and if,what is the right way?
lucky bamboo is a plant trimmed to resemble bamboo. its a dracaena and will grow reasonably well with the bottom of its stem emersed in water. it won't last forever like this though -- it was meant to be grown in soil like any other plant.
is it inside? it might be your ac is sucking up all the humidity and drying out the plant. plants usually need at least 35% humidity to grow well. try finding a way to water the top -- plants do absorb a lot of water through the leaves. misting it once or twice a day will help a lot.
you can re-shape it by starting over again. just take a piece of the stem and cut it like the inital plant. it will send a shoot out the side and you are back in business.
