I don't understand how to use the candle on zelda classic.?
I downloaded The Legend of Zelda onto my computer. You can choose to play it in the really old way or the one with slightly better graphics. In the really old version, the graphics are ugly. One time I bought a candle for 80 rupees. I press the B button and I shoot out a flame that lasts for about 3 seconds. But in the version with better graphics, I bought the candle. Then I pressed the B button (i'm sure that i equipped it) and nothing happened. Every other item worked with the b-button. I don't understand what happened. Can you only use it in the dark in the better version (in the other version you can use it anytime)? I really need help please! Thank you!
It is possible that the "better graphics" version has a bug in the code, which is common with computer-made versions of old video games. Unless, of course, you're confusing this for Zelda 2, which wouldn't let you use the candle at all. In case you're not, I'm afraid the only reason the game would do this is a coding error.
It IS possible to play through the game without using the candle, but it can get frustrating. The incentive to keep going is so that you could some day get the red candle or the book and wand, both of which can create fire and may not have the same programming error.
