Is it safe to use those bouncing sarong things for babies?
This question is more for those living in Asia who will be familiar with those hanging sarongs in which you can place a baby and "bounce" him or her up and down. What I want to know is -- are they really safe for infants? I've heard about spine issues, head/brain issues, and also the danger of falling. Can anyone enlighten?
p.s. What I'm referring to are not the Jolly Jumpers; they literally are sarongs, which are suspended from a stand or the ceiling; the baby is cradled in a sort of prone, curled up way within the sarong. There is this huge spring that makes the sarong bounce up and down.
Only if your not watching the child, remember the "Bouncy Thing" isn't a babysitter. If left unattended (as with all toys and baby things) there could be some trouble. My opinion is is that they are safe when being watched. Besides you get a kick out of watching them as well!!!
