Does anyone know about a Bobsled decapitation accident?
I'm trying to find out more information about this, and haven't been able to locate it with Google etc.
I've seen the video a long time ago. The Bobsled hits the upper wall and then slides on it's side. When it hits the transition from curve to the shorter wall it looks like the guys helmet comes off, but unfortunately his head is still in it (sorry don't mean to be too graphic). I thought it happened in Italy in the 1970's and was at a World Cup event, not at the Olympics... but not sure.
There was an accident in Lake Placid around 1966, but from the description I don't think that was it.
Appreciate any help locating more information.
I've seen that too, but can't find any reference to it. I thought it happened in Italy either in the 1970's or early 80's.
