There is a truism behind the wire that "kindness is mistaken for weakness". During Academy training , we are taught "firm, fair and consistent". Now, look at the recidivism rate from 40 years ago and today. When the iron fist was used, we had a recidivism rate of 15%. Using today's "kindler,gentler" philosophies, our recidivism rate is 84% and not slowing up at all.
The liberals haven't figured out that the pansy flower just isn't working. So in answer to your question, YES, we need the iron fist back again. Make life harsh behind the wire and you will see recidivism rates drop.
