How do I hang a shelf with fabric wall art hanging behind it? I have added the site where this can be viewed!?
I am sure no one will know what I am talking about but the new Target baby catalog has a photo of a diaper station and above the station is what appears to be a fabric wall hanging with a shelf in front of it. How do I accomplish this?? I would upholster a panel, maybe 1/2" plywood, mdf, whatever you can get. Then buy/build a floating shelf. Then, you cuold notch the shelf to fit over the upholstered panel, but I would just put a shim equal to whatever your panel thickness is behind the mounting bracket for the part that's not over the panel. Paint the shim to match the wall. That way your fabric stays nice and flat and your shelf is still sturdy.
