How does Texas transform from woodland to desert?
If the East side of Texas is a pineywood, just like the woods in the rest of the Southeast from Georgia to Louisiana, and the west side is a desert like the desert of New Mexico. What is the transformation in the middle like. I know that there is grassland and post oak around Dallas-Fort Worth, and great rolling hills with mesquite down by San Antonio. I'm fairly familiar that there's alot of short woodlands in Central Texas, with short clumpy trees. So do the hills roll up into the Llano Estacado, which is the great plains, the panhandle if I'm correct. That's where it's flat as hell and you can see for miles, with practically no vegitation. But are there cliffs and canyons on the panhandle? Is Odessa (Friday Night Lights) on the Llano Estacado?
The middle is nuttin but plains, like da plains we gots up here in Oklahoma! Beatiful plains they be, beatiful. Nuttin like chasin some bison for tamarrows steak.
